Street Style From the Grimes Concert in New York City

With her multicolor bangs, strange-cool-girl status, and a suite of sold-out weekend shows in New York, the 24-year-old Canadian singer Grimes attracts an audience that prides itself on quirks – both in music and style.

There was the model Hanne Gabe Odile, not only wearing a candy-raver unicorn horn but also swimming goggles and a pink vinyl raincoat for a look that felt like the best offstage take on Grimes’s goth-pop falsetto songs.

Skingraft motorcycle spring 2013 collection

All in all, Skingraft’s presentation could probably be best summarized as new-age, athletically-inclined motorcycle fetishism.

Dan Regan, creative director of Black Banditz, lent his high-end dark aesthetic to assist in curating and producing the event. His expertise did not end there, however, as he lent his trained team of hairstylists to work their magic. The girls donned slicked back, extra high ponytails bound with thick black wraps, evoking a bondage barbie feel.

Henrik Vibskov creative installation at Copenhagen Fashion Week

The most awaited show at Copenhagen Fashion Week is that of Henrik Vibskov eclectic designer that always suprise us by creating for the collection S/S 13 a futuristic installation that recalls Burton’s scenarios, bordering reality and the more shadowy man ‘s side. A big giant pink tongue is the host on the catwalk with nearly human creatures that try to to free themselves who knows from what thoughts and compulsions, perhaps those of humans, to enjoy otherworldly pleasures.

MATOHU Spring 2013 Tokyo Fashion Week

Matohu designers Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi stayed true to their mission to provide fresh and innovative takes on kimonos and traditional Japanese apparel. Inspired by a trip to a Kyoto antique fair and their discovery of an old iron tool repurposed as a wall decoration, they set out to use unusual fabrics like a rubberized material adept for a tablecloth and a loose knit resembling a fishing net.

They provided texture to a collection full of soft grays with accents of soft yellow, mint green and eggshell blue. Cocoon-like head gear complete the look.

Motonari Ono Tokyo Fashion Week S/S 2013

On Thursday, March 22nd, Japanese label Motonari Ono showcased their 2012 Autumn/Winter collection on the runway at Tokyo Midtown.

A scenario illuminated by a sole line of light sections, where only the essential and the necessary could be seen. A hauntingly beautiful parade started to the sound of timid trembling little bells. Inspiring, serene. A surreal journey through romantic hues and lace, honoring Ono´s signature. Beautiful models walked, each carrying an outfit, then leaving it behind, displayed to the attentive eyes that witnessed the uncommon spectacle.

Mrr.____ a futuristic garment-sculpture collection by Key Chow Ka Wa

A fairytale about two men who created sculpture of themselves on a desserted island for their wedding. Running away from a society that didn’t accept them the two lovers found materials on galaxies, ice fields, wood farms and landfills to create a collection of wearable sculpture-like garments for them to marry. Finally, they make themselves into a sculpture, indifferent to the world forever.

This collection by Key Chow Ka Wa experiments the relationship between the traditional craftsmanship with latest technology, mixing traditions with innovations.

Merchant 1948 Summer Ad Campaign by Giuliano Bekor

In this featured video, photographer Giuliano Bekor delivers his newest Summer movement for Merchant 1948 in which it is separated into four scenes,” The Rescue”, “The Find”, “The Pit Stop” and “The Getaway”. More like a short movie than an ad campaign, Fashion TV was lucky to catch all the behind the scenes scoop, images and filming of the sexy shoot as well as the final results. Friends meet together to search for a treasure chest full with money, but in the midst gets caught up with law enforcement officers in the sizzling desert. How do you think this adventure will end?

Emma Stone stars in a sci-fi, blade runner editorial for Interview

Emma Stone is paying homage to Blade Runner in the latest edition of Interview Magazine.

Clearly, the whole techno-goth aesthetic is very in these days. CosmopolisTotal Recall, and now, even Emma Stone is getting in on the trend. She normally sticks to a high-school sweetheart look and au naturel makeup topped off with a good smoky eye, but we think this is working just fine. Everyone’s favorite starlet is convincingly badass in vampy, dark styling for Interviewmagazine. Why, she’s even smoking a cigarette!

Genesis, Grimes new sun-kissed punk manga video

Imagine if your wildest manga dreams morphed into a saturated, sun-kissed reality. Claire Boucher, aka Grimes, likely does this on a daily basis, as she traverses the globe from Japan to Ibiza with her Totoro backpacks keeping her company like a Hayao Miyazaki punk fairytale brought to life—a peach-haired Snow White with her seven plush dwarves.

In her video for her chosen hit “Genesis,” Grimes casts herself as something of a similar woodland heroine, at turns wielding a flaming sword, leading a tribe of urban trap princesses into the desert, cuddling with a seductive albino boa constrictor, and following what might be her own version of the Wicked Queen—a pink-haired, cybergoth, Amazonian dominatrix clad in a silver-plated cosplay bodysuit—through the streets of what looks like Beverly Hills. It’s all just another day in the life of an esoteric and chimeric pop Pokemon.
