Kunihiko Morinaga new garment collection for Anrealage Spring 2013

Standing out with their detailed-oriented garments and pop-art garments, this collection is a breath of fresh air with its on-point, forward-thinking aesthetic. The Anrealage Spring 2013 puts Japanese fashion on the map and will surely follow the successful trajectory of labels like Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe with the predominance of the Asian luxury market.

Japan Fashion Week: Yoshio Kubo Men’s RTW Spring 2013

Yoshio Kubo, like many Tokyo-based menswear designers this season, took inspiration from sports, but he infused the collection with his signature street-ready style. Models, some sporting clown makeup, mustaches curled at the edges or exaggerated pompadour hairstyles, walked a runway set up on an athletics track as DJs spun tracks with lots of thumping bass.

In this particular picture you can appreciate the Samurai japanese background on the hairstyle and the inked tattoo, which we think is kind of hot so we gave the whole style a #Sexy badge.

Anrealage Spring 2013 collection on Japan Fashion Week

This runway collection was part of Tokyo Fashion Week’s seemingly infinite showcase of truly novel design. Kunihiko Morinaga is the genius behind this garment story that is cohesive in its striking cage-like constructions and decidedly avant-garde head pieces. Models resemble chic drones from the future and are costumed in what can only be described as epitomized modernism.

LED hats by Moritz Waldemeyer for Philip Treacy

A whirring helicopter of LEDs creates the illusion of a glowing hat in this design by Moritz Waldemeyer for Irish milliner Philip Treacy. Six blades, each fitted with a strip of LEDs, are attached to a propellor headpiece worn by the model. When in motion, the blades disappear from view and a huge halo of light seems to float in mid-air.

The creations were unveiled as part of Philip Treacy’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection at London Fashion Week last Monday.

Rodarte hair style for NYFW spring 2013

Tons of stylists, include Kérastase’s Odile Gilbert, were fixated on the concept of an undercut, or faux-shaved head. At Rodarte, Gilbert created a lady comb-over by directing hair over to one side of the head and shellacking it flat to the side of the head with gobs of product. It may be the deepest side-part we’ve ever seen, but we’re kind of loving how edgy and cool it looks — not to mention how well it showcases those rad ear cuffs.
