DAZED & CONFUSED DECEMBER ISSUE: #FANTASIA!

Genki! This month, Dazed & Confused is guest-edited by MUGLER main man, Nicola Formichetti. In a fashion-packed issue, the Italian-Japanese trendsetter focuses on the youth boom of his east Asian homeland. “I feel that there’s been so much attention on Asia in the past couple of years, but nothing out there actually representing the real Asia,” Nicola told our editor Tim Noakes when the team started putting the issue together. “I was born and bred there, so I want to show what’s happening in real time.

Scarlett Johansson shower cover for V magazine

That famous shower scene. Seems Scarlett Johansson gets to (has to?) relive it more than once in her career: she’s in the new Hitchock biopic playing Janet Leigh, not to mention on the cover of the latest issue of V Magazine doing her best shower scream.

#SEXY because we are talking about Scarlet Johansson on a shower, can’t get better than this. More Magazine covers here.

Pop Magazine’s FW 12 Cover

Pop Magazine’s Autumn/Winter 2012 issue features an armless, torso-less Sui He clad in Balenciaga on one of its three covers.

This cover, shot by Viviane Sassen and styled by the magazine’s fashion director Vanessa Reid, will be joined by another soft cover and a hardback version that have yet to be released.

The issue follows a “Warrior Woman” theme and promises an interview with Tina Turner and a feature on artists Yayoi Kusama — of the recent dotty Louis Vuitton collaboration — and Sarah Lucas. There’s also a feature on the return of the Bernadette Corporation, an artists collective that has produced, at various times, an haute couture line, a magazine called Made in USA, and a documentary about the protests at the 2001 G8 Summit in Genoa, Italy.

Emma Stone stars in a sci-fi, blade runner editorial for Interview

Emma Stone is paying homage to Blade Runner in the latest edition of Interview Magazine.

Clearly, the whole techno-goth aesthetic is very in these days. CosmopolisTotal Recall, and now, even Emma Stone is getting in on the trend. She normally sticks to a high-school sweetheart look and au naturel makeup topped off with a good smoky eye, but we think this is working just fine. Everyone’s favorite starlet is convincingly badass in vampy, dark styling for Interviewmagazine. Why, she’s even smoking a cigarette!

Azealia Banks banned Dazed&Confused September cover!

Azealia Banks‘s September Dazed & Confused cover was banned from newsstands in seven countries before we could even catch a glimpse. And now we know why — girl is blowing (smoking?) a raspberry-colored condom.

On the cover, the rapper wears a Balmain jacket, and sports teal locks, multicolored eyeshadow, and some rad nail art. Nestled between her fingers, cigarette-style, is the offending condom. The coverline reads, “Azealia Banks Blows Up”.

Provocative covers are nothing new, but we’re kind of into the overall look of this one. And for a female artist in a male-dominated genre who just so happens to be known for her raunchy lyrics, it’s somewhat fitting, no?

But what do you think? Check out the cover and some pics from her spread (which are a little less suggestive) right here. Gratuitous? Or genius?

i-D’s “The Just Kids” Issue: Kel and Herieth

i-D kick starts the new season with a celebration of what it means to be young today. Youth isn’t determined by what age you are. Nor what stage of life you’re in. It isn’t to do with experience, nor responsibilities. Feeling youthful is finding joy and pleasure in everything you do, whatever your age.

Here photographer Sølve Sundsbø pops the paint pots and gets vivid with Kel Markey and Herieth Paul. Styled by i-D Fashion Director Kel and Herieth both wear coats Gucci (paint splats stylists own!).

Lady Gaga covers September issue of Vogue

Here’s one good reason Lady Gaga was a smart cover choice for Vogue‘s record-breaking 916 page September issue: When she tweets the first image of the cover it goes out to over 28 million people. And that’s just what she did, after much tweet-hyping, around 11 p.m. last night. “SHH DONT TELL TWITTER/ SEPT ISSUE OF VOGUE MAGAZINE/ Sorry Anna but the underground kids deserve it. bisous! 1ST,” Gaga wrote. That should translate to some newsstand sales, even if they are down.

The cover was shot by Mert & Marcus and styled by Grace Coddington and Gaga is wearing Marc Jacobs. “I’m totally channeling fozzibear,” Gaga wrote on littlemonsters.com. We kinda think she’s channeling a drag queen but in the best possible way. Gaga’s monsters agree. Besides exclaiming things like “My water just broke,” and “HOLY FUCK” numerous little monsters have noted that Gaga looks like RuPaul here. Which is awesome.

Tilda Swinton covers Candy Magazine

Although you wouldn’t know it at first glance, Tilda Swinton is Candy‘s latest cover star. The typical barefaced actress appears wearing more makeup than a Kardashian, a wig of thick wavy red locks and an over-the-top gold dress — in other words, exactly the sort of thing Tilda never wears.

LOVE Magazine

Downton Abbey star covers LOVE Magazine

She’s usually seen in period dress portraying Lady Sybil in Downton Abbey. But Jessica Brown Findlay has undergone a dramatic makeover appearing on the cover of Love magazine.

The 22-year-old actress appears dressed in an ethereal style sporting messy hair embellished with flowers, pale skin, smokey eyes and dark red lips. Jessica smoulders on the cover dressed in a plunging crumpled dress with her incandescent skin glowing in the light.

The shoot, styled by LOVE Editor-in-chief Katie Grand, is a far cry from the primped and proper character Jessica famously portrays.
